The pianist Emmanuelle Stephan will be in recital on Saturday September 17 at 8 p.m. at the Vaison-la-Romaine cathedral, this concert is for the benefit of the association “Le Regard d’Anna”.

For three years, the pianist Emmanuelle Stephan has been an ambassador for the Vaisonnaise association “Le Regard d’Anna”, the structure carries out solidarity actions with children from the Third World. The pianist will give a recital “Under the stars” this Saturday, September 17 at 8 p.m. at the cathedral instead of the site of the Vaison-la-Romaine Observatory, initially planned. Bad weather forecast obliges.

Le Regard d’Anna follows the dreams of Anna Scherer, a child then aged 16, who died tragically, who had made a wish to help children in North Vietnam. The association organizes events to carry out actions with underprivileged children around the world. Pianist Emmanuelle Stephan has agreed to become an ambassador for the charity. She gave a first concert in July 2020 at the Jardin singulier in Saint-Léger-du-Ventoux. Last year, despite a reduced calendar disrupted by the Covid, she was able to honor her annual meeting in Vaison: “Since 2019, I have been working with the association in the same way, giving one concert a year, talking about the association on social networks. The association intervenes in Madagascar to help two classes in a school located in a slum. For this concert, the pianist has put Schubert, Chopin and Poulenc on her program: “For the moment I hesitate to specialize in a period or towards a composer. There is something inexplicable about being attracted to such and such a composer. Beauty belongs to everyone. What makes this mystery of beauty interesting”.

In addition to this charity concert, Emmanuelle Stephan is delighted that her agenda is filling up again (Read below): “We spent difficult years where we withdrew into ourselves. Fortunately, the light returns to Emmanuelle Stephan: “After Vaison, I will be in concert in Italy. Then I was invited as vice-president of a jury. It is a great pride but also a great responsibility to judge artists. and put a note. »

Another project is taking shape with an upcoming record: “It’s still a bit early to reveal myself, I’m in discussion with labels. What I can say is that I will choose pieces that I play often. I realized that the best captures are the first more than the tenths or twentieths where there is less spontaneity. »
