Lao Cai, with an area of 6383 square kilometers, is a mountainous province near the international border of Vietnam and China. Lao Cai shares borders with Ha Giang to the east, Son La and Lai Chau province to the west, Yen Bai province to the south and Yunnan province (China) to the north.

The topography of Lao Cai province is complex with a large number of valleys, hills, passes and mountains.
Our action is positioned in Sa Pa, a small town located in the mountains of Hoàng Liên Sơn, in the northwest of Vietnam. This region, which is one of the poorest, is populated by ethnic minorities who remain outside the visible economic development around the major cities.
